A massive political gathering took place at Ugwuoye Primary School Field in Nsukka Local Government Area as stakeholders and notable figures in the Nsukka Local Government Area and environs converged for the inauguration of ward coordinators of the “Tomorrow Is Here Movement.”
The event, which drew a large crowd of supporters and political leaders, signaled a strong endorsement of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
The ceremony witnessed what many described as an unprecedented assembly of political heavyweights in Nsukka Local Government.
Leaders across party lines and influential stakeholders gathered to show solidarity with the President of the Tomorrow Is Here Movement, Hon. Tomorrow Okwudili Okonkwo, as he championed the message of good governance and highlighted the developmental strides recorded under Governor Mbah’s administration.
Royal fathers from various communities within Nsukka Local Government were also in attendance, lending traditional support to the movement.
The event featured prayer delivered by the Founder and Spiritual Director of “Okunaere Adoration Ministry, ” Fr Obayi, who prayed for peace, unity, and continued progress in Enugu State.

Governor Mbah
Some prominent leaders of Nsukka LGA including former Local Government Chairmen of Nsukka, including Hon. Tony Ugwu (Odera) and Hon. Walter Ozioko, graced the occasion alongside other prominent figures.
Their presence underscored the political weight of the event and reflected a united front among past and present leaders in the area.
In his welcome address, the Nsukka Local Government Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Ozo Ugwuja Cyril Chika, expressed appreciation to Governor Mbah for what he described as transformative projects executed within a short period in office.
He noted that Mbah”s achievements have made the governor’s 2027 re-election bid “an easy task” for supporters across the wards.
Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly representing Nsukka Local Government, Hon. Pius Ezugwu and Hon. Malachy Onyechi, also addressed the gathering.
They pledged their loyalty to the governor and assured the movement’s leadership that Nsukka remained the political backbone of the zone.
Hon. Ezugwu described Governor Mbah as his political mentor and vowed to mobilize his constituents massively in 2027.
The Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Government, Hon. Engr. Jude Asogwa, described the governor as a pillar of good governance and a master strategist.
He declared that there would be “no vacancy in the Lion Building” come 2027, emphasising that future political gatherings in Nsukka would focus solely on consolidating support for Governor Mbah’s re-election.
Adding momentum to the event, the Deputy Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly highlighted key initiatives of the Mbah administration, particularly the Smart School programme.
He outlined the benefits of free education, free school uniforms, and a daily meal for pupils, describing the initiative as a strategic investment to position Enugu children for global competitiveness.
In his address, the President of the Tomorrow Is Here Movement, Hon. Tony Okonkwo, delivered a detailed account of the governor’s projects and policy direction.
Speaking in a calm and measured tone, he emphasised the importance of sustained support, urging attendees to not only mobilise voters but also remember the governor in their prayers.
He subsequently inaugurated the ward coordinators and charged them to return to their communities to spread the message of development and continuity.
The event concluded on a high note with chants of support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s 2027 ambition.
According to the Director of ICT of the Tomorrow Is Here Movement, Hon. Kingsley Ochinanwata, the gathering marked a defining moment in Nsukka’s political landscape.
Among other dignitaries in attendance were Hon. Cletus Akalusi, Hon. Obiajulu Princess Ugwu, and Hon. Osita, further reinforcing the broad-based backing for the governor’s second-term bid.
