The presidential candidate of Action Alliance (AA) Retired Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha says he did not and has not stepped down for anybody in the forth coming general election salated for 25 Feb 2023.
Al-Mustapha made this know while apprearing on a human rights radio Fm, in Abuja and which was also monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria NAN on Tuesday.
He said the insinuation that he has stepped down for any candidate was untrue. He also describe the statement credited to the factional chairman of AA, Mr kenneth Udeze, through whom he emerged as candidate as a scam
The announcement by some one Udeze that AA is supporting Atiku Abubakar was a scam
Action Alliance has not endorsed anybody. I am still in the race and if I am going to lose, I will lose pretty well and if I am going to win, I will win pretty well he said.
Al-Mustapha, who is a factional presidential candidate of Action Alliance recognized by INEC, said he had not discussed anything with anyone as to his withdrawal or adoption of any other candidate.
He urged Nigerians to disregard such Comment.
News agency of nigeria also report that the party currently is divided into two factions with two presidential candidates.
Mr Solomon David Akanigbuen emerged as presidential candidate of Dr Adekunle Omo-Aje leadership of AA, while Mr Al-Mustapha was elected as presidential candidate of Udeze led leadership of the party.
However, a number of court judgment and rullings had recognized Omo-Aje as the valid chairman of party to submit name of the candidate to INEC while affirming the expulsion of Udeze from the party.
