…Team to tour Enugu East Senatorial zone, reaffirms stand with Gov. Ugwuanyi
Youth Leaders of various extractions and organizations within Enugu State have taken the governorship electioneering campaign and sensitization to the grassroots within the Enugu East Senatorial Zone to preach the established gubernatorial zoning gospel to all the nooks and crannies of the zone and beyond for the maintenance of peace, equity, justice and fairness during the 2023 general elections.
Our correspondent gathered that the Movement which was led by a Southeast youth leader and also a serving Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu State on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani, commenced in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State and focuses on the Youths, Students, and elderly people mostly in the rural areas, urging them to dust up their voter’s cards.
The major objective of the sensitization which started on 31st of March was to re-orientate and appeal to the people of Enugu East Senatorial Zone and beyond to pray and support the Enugu East Senatorial Zone Governorship agenda in 2023 by supporting and voting for a humble, accessible, and progressive candidate of Enugu East Senatorial Zone to become the next Governor of Enugu State.
The Team which is set to tour all the political wards of Enugu East Senatorial Zone on what it called Ward to Ward Sensitization Tour on Zoning, went to the four autonomous Communities of Nkerefi (Ishienu Amofu, Ohuani Amofu, Enuogu Nkerefi and Imeoha Nkerefi) and also, Nara Unataeze (Orie Market) to preach this political gospel of equity, justice and fairness for the sake of peace, unity, and progress of the State.
The Team was welcomed by elated villagers, both old and young alike promised to vote en masse for a candidate of Enugu East Senatorial Zone’s extraction as they were all ready with their voter’s cards. Our correspondent, Okwy Emmanuel observed the insistent chant renting the air by the cheering crowds that it was the turn of the zone to produce the next governor of the state. Some of the jubilant electorate could be heard chanting; “It Is Our Turn, Let Other Zones Support Us. Enugu East Senatorial Zone has credible, competent and qualified candidates for the position of Governor come 2023 and we will support who Governor Ugwuanyi supports from Nkanuland because he has done well and we love him.
Meanwhile, the President General of Nkerefi Development Union (NDU), Hon Jim Dubem, Traditional Ruler and PG of Enuogu Nkerefi Autonomous Community, HRH, Igwe Emmanuel Onukube (Ogu 1 of Enuogu) and Chief Samson Egboka all expressed delight in the movement, commending Gov Ugwuanyi’s leadership strides, appealing to other zones to support Kwado Nkanu 2023 agenda which centers on the Gubernatorial aspiration of Enugu East Senatorial Zone.
There were Nollywood celebrities, brand ambassadors, media personalities and influencers, including Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke (Aneke Twins) who identified with the Kwado Nkanu Sensitization Tour and have expressed their desires to see that tour achieve its goals.
Kwado Nkanu Movement aslo had other youth leaders present which includes Technical Assistants to Governor of Enugu State Hon David Ani (Odogwu na Nkanu) and Hon Egbo Franklin Chinagorom.
Others are, Ambassador Gabriel Odih (Speaker NYAN Enugu State), Comr Ugwu Prince-will (Public Relations Officer National Youth Council of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter),Hon Sophia Odoh (Member Representing Enugu East Senatorial Zone in the Nigerian Youth Parliament), Hon Ogbodo Michael (A Councilor in Enugu South LGA), Comr Dominic Udeobasi, Comr Okenna Maduakor Gerrard, Nwada Oluchi Chinweuba Claire (Convener Enugu Election Discourse), Comr Charles Edeh (Entertainment Personality) and Hon Celestine Egbonwonu.
The tour is scheduled to continue today as other communities are itching to welcome the team.
