The Director General of Bukola Saraki Presidential Contact and Advocacy Council Prof Iyorwuese Hagher has described Dr Bukola Saraki as bridge builder and a leader with the key to the unity of Nigeria.
Hagher stated this during an interaction with the Cross River State delegates to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) forthcoming Presidential Primary in Calabar.
He added that Saraki as intelligent, educated and a detribalised leader with the milk of kindness possesses the capacity to return the country to it’s former glory.
“Bukola Saraki is well educated: very intelligent; tested and trusted; a caring leader who carries the pains of others.
“Nigeria needs a unifier like him. He is below 60 years. He has promised to appoint youths of below 40 years as minister of state in each if elected.
“He has also assured women of holistic implementation of 35 per cent affirmative action if he becomes the president.
“Saraki will bridge the gap between the old and young generation, ” he said.
He solicited the support of the delegates during the primary, adding that they count on Cross River to deliver.
Hagher, a former minister of Power further said that, every geo-political zone of Nigeria have the right to lay claim to the presidency.
“All the zones laying claim to the presidency are right. Every zone is capable of presenting Presidential materials.
“However, we are saying that zoning has long been abused and now Nigeria needs a unifier, ” he said.
According to him, the current ills bedeviling the Nigeria society was a result of bad leadership; unkept promises by politicians and high level corruption.
“Bukola Saraki will change all that, ” he said.
The State Chairman of PDP, Mr Venatius Ikem in his response outlined the leadership qualities of Saraki spanning over time.
He thanked the council for finding time to come and interact with the delegates and wished them well.
Other members of the delegation include former governor of Kwara state, Sen Sha’aba Lafiaji, Dr Ahmadu Musa, Alhaji Aliyu Maigari and Engr Hassan Husseini.
