Mr Somtochukwu Udeze, Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, said the 8th Assembly will promote Private Member Bill Reform to encourage debate on private member bills.
Udeze said this in a press statement made avaliable to journalists in Awka.
He said that private member bill reforms will give significant reforms in the handling of private member bills for equitable opportunity to contribute to the legislative agenda.
Udeze said the reform emphasizes on commitment to transparency by making the legislative process more accessible and understandable to the public.
He reteriated that his inaugural speech, where he emphasised commitment to fostering a strong relationship with the Executive and the Judiciary as a tool of development remained sacrosanct.
Udeze said that he believed in unity and the common destiny that binds Anambra people as a body and assured total commitment to acts of growth through open door policies.
The speaker said that holistic development of the state and the welfare of the people will form bases of making human faced laws to encourage the peoplr to live in line with state laws.
Udeze said that the legislature will closely work with the Gov. Charles Soludo to ensure sustenance of good governance in Anambra.
He urged the public not to take laws into their hands in any chronic conflict associated to them but use the house committee on public petitions to resolve challenges diplomatically.
He said that within 100 days in office,they have drafted a comprehensive legislative agenda that will guide their actions and policies, serving as our roadmap for the next four years.
