The Vice Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Enugu State Branch, UgoFerdinand Ukwueze, has described the flagg off of the dualization of Opi-Nsukka-Ugwuogo Nike road project by the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah as a Master Stroke.
Ukwueze commended the bold action of the Governor in an interview with newsmen shortly after the flag off ceremony at Opi, on behalf of the six LGA Chairmen in Enugu North Senatorial District.
He said that the the state was still agog with the Governor’s approval of N80,000 minimum wage for civil servants and he has yet again undertaken another incredible and life touching project.
The ALGON Vice Chairman said that the dualization of the Opi-Nsukka-Ugwuogo Nike road is a Master Stroke because the importance of the project will touch all the spheres and fabrics of Enugu North Senatorial District positively.
He said that the dualization will reengineer the economy of Enugu North Senatorial District unprecedentedly, address the issue security squarely on that road, reduce traffic, pressure and road accidents on that road, increase the value of estates development on that road, reduce the delays experienced while traveling to Enugu on that road among others.
Ukwueze who is the Executive Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, said that the Governor has scored a big political point for himself by taking the bold decision to dualize that all important road that is not only serving the people of Nsukka but now a gateway road being plied by commuters going to Rivers, Abia, Imo, Akwa Ibom and Ebonyi from Northern parts of the country.
He said, “I describe this action of the Governor to flag off of Opi-Nsukka-Ugwuogo Nike Road dualization project as a Master Stroke because it will touch the sectors of the economy and life of the people of Nsukka positively. This project means a lot to our people and it is a big political point that the Governor has scored for himself.
“As Chairmen from this part of the state, we will provide all the needed support to make this project a success and we will replicate such gestures in our local communities by carrying out projects that are master strokes oriented to the people,”
He called for prayers and support for Governor Peter Mbah’s administration from the good people of Enugu North Senatorial District adding, “the bible makes to understand that if we praise a King for the good works he is doing, he will do more,”.
Ukwueze said that truly the Tomorrow is Here mantra is already a success barely two years of Governor Mbah’s leadership of the state.
