Port Harcourt – The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has expressed delight at the appointment of Olugbemisola Odusote as Director-General (DG) of the Nigerian Law School.
The institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Georgewill Owunari, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday, described Odusote’s appointment as a landmark achievement for legal education and women’s leadership in Nigeria.
Owunari said Odusote becomes the first female DG of the Nigerian Law School in the more than 60 years since its establishment.
“Her emergence reflects the confidence reposed on her exceptional leadership capacity, professional depth and administrative acumen.
“Odusote’s proven record of excellence, integrity and commitment to institutional development unmistakably positioned her for the nation’s highest legal education office.
“The new Director-General’s appointment is truly a historic milestone and richly deserved,” he said.
Owunari expressed confidence that Odusote’s leadership would usher in a new era of growth, innovation and consolidation in legal education in the country.
The vice-chancellor commended President Bola Tinubu for Odusote’s appointment and wished the new DG a successful tenure at Nigeria’s legal training institution.
