The Godfrey Okoye University Faculty Of Law has secured full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) in its last accreditation exercise conducted few months ago.
In a statement signed by the Dean Faculty of Law Godfrey Okoye University, Prof. Gozie Ogbodo, SJD, and obtained by FirstNews, the accreditation will last for the next three academic sessions.

The statement reads thus: “It is with tremendous joy that I announce that the result of our last Accreditation has been received. Our faculty received FULL ACCREDITATION, having scored 93.9%.
“With this, we can now focus on graduating our pioneer set who are presently in their final year class. I thank everybody in our University for the exemplary support and cooperation they made in achieving this remarkable feat by a very young Faculty of Law.
“Pending when we resume, let me also thank and congratulate all our students and the LAWSA Executive members in a special way for being very supportive.
May the good Lord bless you all on this journey of becoming very successful Lawyers who will impact the world for better.”
FirstNews recalls that the Godfrey Okoye University Faculty of Law also came out successful in both the NUC accreditation and the Council of Legal Education accreditation held in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
The Faculty now awaits the Council of Legal Education to also come for their own accreditation the GO University Faculty of Law before the end of this year or the first quarter of next year.
Godfrey Okoye University is said to be a fast growing private University in Enugu State with rich ethics and moral capacity considering it’s background as a Catholic owned University.
The University was founded in 2009 by the Very Reverend Father Professor Dr. Christian Anieke for the Catholic Diocese of Enugu and got it’s operational license on the 3rd November 2009 from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The Godfrey Okoye University is the first University owned by a Catholic Diocese in Africa.
