Akure, Feb. 13, 2026 – The Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OSSAA) has addressed recent public comments concerning its enforcement operations across the state.
The agency in a statement made available to newsmen in Akure on Friday, reaffirmed its commitment to lawful, transparent and structured regulation of signage and advertisement activities.
OSSAA stated that its mandate covers public safety, environmental order and fairness to all operators. It noted that enforcement procedures are guided strictly by extant laws and established administrative processes
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage and Advertisement, Yomi Oyekan, said enforcement was not punitive but regulatory.
“Our duty is to protect public interest and ensure that all operators comply with laid-down rules,” Oyekan said.
He added that compliance mechanisms were clear and accessible to stakeholders.
“Where any structure is flagged, owners are expected to visit our office with valid permits for verification,” he said.
According to him, the agency guarantees fairness, accountability and due process in every case.
“No one is denied the opportunity to clarify or regularise their documentation,” Oyekan said.
The agency in a related development, urged one Mr. John Kollyns to formally engage with OSSAA and present verifiable approval documents.

It assured that any valid documentation submitted would receive prompt administrative review.
Oyekan cautioned against harassment or obstruction of authorised officers performing statutory duties.
“Our officers represent an institution established by law. Obstructing them undermines due process and equal treatment,” he said.
He stressed that the law applies uniformly without regard to status or public sentiment.
“Regulation must be consistent. Equality before the law sustains order and public trust,” Oyekan said.
OSSAA reiterated its commitment to dialogue, responsible enforcement and constructive engagement.
“Our doors remain open to all stakeholders willing to comply within the ambit of the law,” Oyekan said.
