The National Deputy Chairman of Labour Party (LP) in South East, Hon. Ceekay Igara has put to rest the purpoted sacking of Chairman of Enugu State chapter of the party Barrister Casmir Agbo by some party faithful.
.
Igara made the clarification while speaking to Journalists shortly after a one-day stakeholders meeting at LP state secretariat in Enugu
.
He described the alleged emergence of a new state executive as false, and unfounded, insisting that there is no crisis in Enugu State Chapter of the Labour Party.

.
He said: “I am on official tour of the entire South-East states. I was in Abia on Tuesday. I will be in Imo on Thursday, and today (Wednesday), I am in Enugu. What I am doing is to talk to our officers, because there are some people going around saying they are Labour Party leaders.
“We have decided as a party to let Nigerians know that there are no divisions in Labour Party.
“The party has Dr. Julius Abure as the National Chairman. And if you come to Enugu state, Dr. Casmir Agbo is the state chairman.
.
“We have not constituted a new leadership of the Labour Party in Enugu, apart from this one being led by Casmir Agbo.
“And so, anybody who tells me that another executive exists in Enugu is a confussionist.”
.
He said he was in Enugu to see things and put the records straight, adding that those claiming to constitute a parralel EXCO were illegal.
“I attended this meeting because it is properly constituted.
“No national officer will show face in their purpoted EXCO because they are an illegal body.
“I am not saying they are not members of the party; all I am saying is that they are not members of the executive we constituted in Enugu, ” he said.
.
He advised prospective members of the party in Enugu state to approach the Casmir Agbo-led executive for registration.
.
He boasted that LP would take over governance of Enugu State in 2027, and tasked members at different levels to work harder towards achieving the objective.
.
“I want you to remember what I said today, and that is that what LP did in Enugu in 2023 is a child’s play considering what is going to happen in 2027, ” Igara said.
.
He accused some public office holders elected on the platform of the party in 2023, of not contributing to the growth and development of the party across the states.
.
Speaking during the stakeholders meeting, Barr. Agbo assured members of the party that he would serve the party diligently and transparently.
He urged them to ensure obedience to the provisions of the party’s constitution.
