St Michaels Cathedral Awgu town Friday 29th of September came alive as Catholic Faithfuls around the world came in their numbers to witness the 18th Awgu Diocesan Anniversary and investiture of Papal Awardees.
As early as 9am the St Michaels Cathedral was almost filled to capacity as the clergy men, Religious, Awardees, families and friends thronged the large Church Auditorium.The event Started a few minutes after 10am with a procession of the Awardees and the clergy in an orderly manner.
The service was conducted by His Lordship Most Rev John I Okoye Bishop of Awgu Diocese. One of the Awardees was (Sir) Anioke Cyril UCHENNA Ph.D a man of the People who have affected the lives of so many people in Awgu local government area of Enugu State.
(Sir) Cyril is a High Chief and holds a Chieftaincy title of Omeluora Enugu. A member of the Executive Committee of the Geneva based International Publishers Association (IPA) as well as the National President of Nigerian Publishers Association (NPA)and Group Managing Director of Acena Publishers Nig Ltd and Pens and Voices Nig Ltd with corporate headquarters in Enugu.
(Sir) Cyril an Erudite academician holds a B.A,M.A, Ph.D and taught Mass Communication Students at ESUT.A prolific writer who has Published four books to his credit,a Motivational Speaker, Mediator,conciliator and negotiator as well as an internationally acclaimed ADR expert.
A fellow Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC)and member Governing Council as well as a member of the training faculty who has facilated many training for High court judges, magistrates, Political and Religious leaders in Nigeria.
it is on record that (Sir) Uche has assisted many organizations in resolving some uncommon Challenges.(Sir) Cyril a multifaceted individual is a media guru, a renowned broadcast Journalist, OAP, media influencer and currently hosts a weekly Show on radio.(Sir) Anioke was in government as Managing Director ESHDC, Managing Director Enugu State Star Printing and Publishing Corporation, Commissioner for Youths and Sports and elected Executive Chairman of Awgu local government. (Sir) Cyril is from Umuagwu,Imma,Amoli Awgu local government area of Enugu State, Married with Children.This is why (Sir) Cyril have been described as a Man of the people as a result of his consistent association with people and in all these positions he assisted the church in various ways that Contributed to the Papal knight Award that he bagged on Friday 29th September 2023.
