One thing the inconsequential Nsukka aggrieved PDP members turned Labour Party candidates, members and their social media e-rats have failed to realise is that they cannot do things the same way and get different result. It is obvious that they are not pragmatic, strategic and creative. They are just fastidious, desperate and power mongering.
Recall that ahead of the PDP governorship primaries, their preferred aspirant, Bar. Chijioke Edeoga unleashed his sponsored social media bandits, who have no journalism experiences, but, specialise in peddling lies and blackmailing people on his co-aspirants, especially the likes of Mr. Peter Mbah and Prof. Hillary Edeoga, who is Chijioke’s kinsman.
All the spaces on different social media platforms were used by Edeoga’s social media attack dogs to malign and castigate Bar. Mbah. Despite all these, Edeoga lost the PDP governorship primaries to Mbah.
Since defecting to Labour Party where he is battling for Labour Party governorship ticket through the backdoor, Edeoga, who has nothing to campaign with, apart from his previous arranged and apprenticeship appointments in the successive governments, has continued to unleash his Nsukka social media e-rats on Mbah and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for political and selfish reasons.
Hiding under a non-existing pen name Emeka Franklin Ossai, one of the e-rats penned a useless, perfidious and fictious article titled “Enugu 2023: Why Peter Mbah Is A Hard Sell.” In the article, the faceless and shameless writer potrayed Mr. Peter Mbah as a hard sell to Ndi Enugu, relying on his conjured, myopic, judgmental and baseless reasons.
This Edeoga’s antics is not new. It is the same fairytales and social media lies they have foretold and peddled against Mbah repeatedly before the primaries with no effect on his victory in the PDP primaries.
For Edeoga’s social media e-rats to attack or criticise Governor Ugwuanyi is the height of impunity, desperation and ingratitude. Edeoga, we all know too well was jobless before Governor Ugwuanyi picked him and gave him a lifeline by making him Commissioner for almost eight years. This was after Edeoga had hibernated for more a decade with no known means of survival or office address.
All that Edeoga has achieved in life which are political appointments were arranged by his in-laws the Nwodos and the benevolent Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
For the Edeoga’s social media peddler to label Governor Ugwuanyi a failure simply means that he is a daft and mischief maker, who has poor knowledge of politics and governance. This has shown the extent Edeoga can go in desperate quest for power. Edeoga has just forgotten yesterday. Well, that is Edeoga for you. He always bite the finger that fed him.
Assuming without conceding that Governor Ugwuanyi is a failure as stated by the fictious writer and his paymaster, what is Edeoga, who was a Commissioner in Governor Ugwuanyi’s government until recently?
What it means is that Edeoga is also a colossal failure, who contributed nothing meaningful in Governor Ugwuanyi’s government as Commissioner, apart from lining his personal pocket for survival.
How can a failure in little successive public offices like Edeoga be entrusted with a coveted office of the Governor of Enugu State? How can Edeoga that is in perpetual enmity with majority of his kinsmen and political stakeholders be voted as Governor of Enugu State?
If Peter Mbah who is a renowned technocrat, employer of Labour and entrepreneur will be a hard sell to Enugu people, what will Edeoga who has no history of managing anything, apart from arrangee political appointments be to Enugu people?
Comparing Mbah and Edeoga ahead of 2023 governorship primaries is like comparing light and darkness. Mbah is the light and Edeoga is the darkness.
Mbah represents new idea and emerging generation of leadership with innovation. Edeoga is a product of an afterthought and a representation of political desperados and a dying political dynasty that is looking for survival by all means.
For the fact that Mbah as a young man, after serving in two strategic political offices as Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Finance, voluntarily left the paraphernalia and perks of publuc office to venture into uncertain private business speaks volume of his personality, capacity and vision.
Mbah’s ability to take the Pinnacle Oil Plc from one studio room in Lagos to a major global player and competitor in the downstream oil sector within a short time is a testament of his sterling qualities and capacity to innovate and succeed.
Ahead of the elections and commencement of the campaigns, Mbah has in various media interviews and interactions reeled out his innovative and strategic roadmap for the state that is anchored on the mantra of disruptive innovation and tomorrow is here.
Edeoga, instead of telling the people of Enugu what he has to offer them, apart from that he will be manipulated by his in-laws who pushed him to contest after losing out in PDP, has been busy peddling falsehoods and unleashing his retinue of social media e-rats on Mbah and Governor Ugwuanyi for not supporting his emergence on PDP platform.
The gift of Bar. Peter Mbah and Bar. Ifeanyi Ossai is the best PDP and Governor Ugwuanyi offered Enugu people. The two eggheads are of a kind. They are deep and humble.
They have trackrecord of private sector breakthroughs. This unlike Edeoga that has been hibernating and hovering around corridors of powers all his life and looking for whom to ride on his back to prominence. Mbah has paid his dues in the private business.
Mbah is coming to Enugu to replicate the successes and breakthroughs he achieved in his private business in the governance of Enugu. Mbah is not a hard sell and can never be because in all ramifications, he is head and shoulders above all other governorship candidates including Edeoga that is the least of them in terms of capacity and strength of character.
Even though it is too late and there is nothing Edeoga can do as failure awaits him ahead of the election, if not I would have advised him to change his approach to the governorship election from using social media urchins to attack and peddling falsehoods against his opponents to concentrating on telling the people what he has done, what he intends to do and what he will do if elected Governor.
But who will elect him Governor, when all odds are against his ambition, even from his kinsmen and political stakeholders in his community.
