Rangers International FC of Enugu General Manager (GM) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amobi Ezeaku said the club cannot wait to play their home match inside Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium (NAS), Enugu on Dec.28.
Ezeaku who disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Enugu on Friday said the club will be playing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on December 28 after two seasons.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Rangers has been playing thier home matches at Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium, Nnewi and later at Awka Township Stadium, Anambra.
Rangers will on Dec.23 battle Shooting Stars Sporting Club of Ibadan in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match day 16.
According to Ezeaku, “the letter from the League Management Company (LMC) is clear and we are not only coming home to play 3SC but permanent home coming.
“Though, we have made everywhere our home but nothing sweet like home and NAS remain one of the highest Christmas gift given to Rangers by Gov. Peter Mbah administration.
“Rangers is not only a club but a movement and we are not reteriate again that the club store has been open for the purchase of the Jerseys,”he said.
Ezeaku noted that the club innovation hub will soon be open for everybody who have ideas of better way to advertise the club to the world.
“We are not departing from our early strategic plans of making Rangers a world club standard and we have commenced recriutment of our 17 and 13 respectively.
“The management decided to put the announcement of our female onhold following Rangers return to the stadium.
“We are working with Ex-Super Falcons, Coaches and other female club’s in the country to ensure we raised a standard female club.
“Rangers rose through difficulties from 1990 to this height and with this, we must make sure that all we have on our strategic plans are been actualised,”Ezeaku assured.
Ezeaku assured the supporters of adequate security during and after matches, noting that the police has assured the management of their officers present at match venue.
“We will also ensure comfortability of the spectators and provide them with social services needed to ensure successful matches at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium,”he said.
Ezeaku commended the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr Lloyd Ekweremadu for his tireless efforts in ensuring that Rangers returned home.
He praised the Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah who has been the club back bone financially for his encouragement and returning the club back to the Enugu.
The CEO thanked the newsmen for their timely reportage saying that the club is open to criticism as such will help the club to actualise it’s dream of becoming a world club.
