The public account committee has
began a three days capacity building workshop for accountability and service delivery in abuja.
Speaking to newsmen during the opening worshop by the chairman of the committte Hon. Bamidele Salam said the retreat was for skills enhancement for efficiency and service delivety in areas the committee has loop holes as well as enhancing productivity in the 10th House of Representatives.
He further stated that the essence of the retreat was to close ranks with the relevant stakeholders in order to work harmoniously with all the MDA’s so as to give proper accountability .
Adding that the training will help them identify areas of leakages and amend them immediately for efficiency and effectiveness .
He also added that the workshop was to bring all ministries departments ,agencies and parastatals on board for productivity which is involve with global best practice around the world.
He explained that the public account committee training was in collaboration with the policy and legal advocacy centre (PLAC) so as to be abreast with multidimensional functions , powers and responsibilities of the committee .
According to Hon.Salam, the training will developed mechanism to tackle various challenges faced by the committee and find ways of prosperity in an upward swing .

Adding that the resources persons who took them on several topics were geared towards synergising with relevant stakeholders with the office of the accountant general and civil society group as well as the media
He added that the committee has multiple responsibilties such that they are divided in to sub- committee in order to cover more grounds
Saying ,some MDA’s dont cooperate with the committee hence the creation of public account implementation tribunal to deal with defaulters identified with infraction .
