The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr Aderemi Adeoye, has commended Anambra State Judiciary for being alive to its responsibility to society.
Adeoye made the commendation over the court order to remand a total of 34 Suspects arraigned for Cultism and related offences in the state.
The information was contained in statements given to journalists in Awka on Thursday by Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.
Adeoye observed that what has militated against efforts to curb crime in the past was the ease with which crime suspects find their way back to society.
He said that such liberty gives the offenders room to commit more crimes even while trial in previous ones were ongoing.
Adeoye attributed the action to meetings held with the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice,Mr Chika Ifemeje.
He said that Ifemeje has been steadfast in lending support to ensure smooth dispensation of justice in the state and commended his quick intervention.
Adeoye said that with the cooperation the Command is receiving from critical stakeholders, the war against crime will be won and Anambra State will soon become investment destination of choice.
