Akure, Feb. 26, 2026 – The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage and Advertisement Agency, Yòmí Oyékàn, today inspected an ongoing artwork project at the Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency in Akure.

Talented artists across Ondo State are collaborating with his office to deliver a historic creative initiative marking the state’s 50th anniversary celebration.
In a remarkable show of unity and patriotism, the artists voluntarily began painting portraits of all democratic Governors of Ondo State since its creation.
The project stands as a powerful artistic tribute to Ondo’s shared history, democratic journey, resilience, and enduring identity over five decades.
Oyékàn described the initiative as a symbol of collective pride and historical preservation through creative expression.

“This is more than paint on canvas; it is our history preserved through art,” Oyékàn said.
“Art gives life to memory and colour to legacy. We are proud to support platforms that empower our creatives.”
He noted that the collaboration aligns with the vision of Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to strengthen creative industries in the state.

According to him, the administration remains committed to enabling artists tell Ondo’s story while contributing meaningfully to cultural and historical identity.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa believes creativity is a tool for development, unity, and economic empowerment,” Oyékàn added.
He emphasised that Ondo at 50 represents not just the passage of time, but a celebration of impact, growth, and democratic progress.

“Art preserves memory. Art inspires pride. Art strengthens legacy,” he said.
The Golden Jubilee project is expected to become a lasting cultural symbol of Ondo State’s democratic evolution.
