The All Progressives Congress Party Member representing ,Abak/ Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom state ,Hon Clement Jimbo has being bagged with an International Humanitarian Ambassadors Award by the International Synergy of Advocates For Global Peace And Development Initiative .
The NGO who is under the United Nation Peace Volunteers Initiatives presented the award to Jumbo in his office.
The executive director of the International Synergy of advocates for global peace and development Initiative Ambassador Ota Abasi ,said the award was in recognition of the lawmakers contributions towards participating in community peace building and engaging in violations against women in the society..
He also said, the award presented to him is in collaboration with the United Nation violence day against women .
Abasi further explained that the award was in self recognition of the lawmaker who transcends tribal and ethnic boundaries.
Saying ,Hon Jimbo is gender sensitive and has helped in impacting women ,children,students and the youths in his constituency.
The Executive director also said the award presented to Jumbo was part of his gender inclusion policy and also his strong support against violence against women in the society.
Abasi added that the award was profound to his gender empowerment and victimization against women in the country.
Saying the award
According to him, the award will spur the lawmaker to promote women right visibility and gender sensitivity in the green chambers of the national assembly.
Adding that, his leadership style will stand him out in pursuit of gender inclusion which has affected local and international recognitions .
Noting that the International Synergy of Advocates for Global Peace and Development Initiatives was a brainchild of the United Nation Volunteers organisation to promote peace and gender equilibrium in the society.
Responding, Hon Jimbo said he was delighted with the honour bestowed on him ,saying little did he knew that the NGO was watching on what he was doing ,adding that the award will help him to do more in violence against women and also stand against female genital mutilation .
He therefore charged the UN volunteers to collaborate the hinter land and the national assembly for an available sticker against female genital mutilations in the country he added
