Ahead of Anambra state gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on November 6, 2021, the lawmaker representing the people of Njikoka 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Ifedioranma, has appealed to the people of the state to come out in their large numbers and vote for the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Andy Uba.
Hon. Ifedioranma who made this appeal while addressing his mammoth supporters at Njikoka local government area of Anambra state on Thursday stated that the party was ready to change the narratives in the state by making available to the people, basic amenities and correcting the infrastructural deficits that have bedeviled the state.
Hon. Ifedioranma who is a practicing lawyer further reiterated that with the election of Senator Andy Uba as governor of the state, Anambra state would enjoy the patronage of federal government as more projects and infrastructure would be attracted.
According him, Senator Andy Uba has been tested previously by the people, and has passed the integrity test and won the trust and confidence of the masses through his charismatic, focused, and purposeful leadership.
He assured voters that the APC would run an all-inclusive government if voted en masse on the 6th of November (Saturday), 2021. While reiterating Andy’s commitment to education and infrastructure, he maintained that the government of the APC would be goal-driven and people-oriented as it was going to declare a compulsory free and quality education across the state.
The lawmaker who bemoaned the rot in infrastructure and economic decadence in midst of all-time high revenues accrued to the state, promised that Andy Uba would be prudent and accountable for every dime that came to the state’s purse. He further added that the APC would focus on how to rescue the state from its battered economy by providing incentives to investors, liaising with the federal government to grant tax concessions to local and foreign investors in the state.
Meanwhile, reacting to questions from newsmen, the popular lawmaker who bagged a PhD in Psychology from the United States, stated that the new government would link all roads from rural areas with the state capital and other major cities to encourage ease of business doing. This, according to him, would create more jobs, engage the youths in meaningful ventures and bridge inequality between the rich and the poor.
On whether the APC has the capacity to emerge victorious from the poll, Hon. Ifedioranma, who is known for his massive projects and scholarship, said he has no doubt that the APC has won the hearts of the people through the quality representations of the party at the national level.
“The APC has done amazingly well nationwide. APC states have faired better, and we’ll want to continue this in our dear state. Our great party is for the people. We are coming for a rescue mission. With the APC in power, Anambra people will rejoice. We will connect to the centre, attract federal presence, lobby the government for a cargo seaport, create enabling economic environment for our businesses to thrive. Those at Onitsha main market can easily have their wares and containers shipped directly to the Onitsha seaport. This is no rocket science. We’re going to prioritize the welfare of the citizens. Some of us having been doing that before now, and we want to continue to give our people the best in a large scale,” the lawmaker added.
On whether Buhari and the APC at the national level would work with the Southeast to produce a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction, the lawmaker maintained that Buhari and the APC have continued to show genuine interest and concern for the region, stating that Igbo president in 2023 is possible under President Buhari.
Recall that Hon. Ifedioranma was appointed sometime in the past as the Campaign Director General of his constituency, and has been mobilizing voters for the APC.
