
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Enugu State Chapter, has commiserated with the family and management of Rangers International FC over the death of it’s media officer, Late Nobert Okolie.
Okolie died died on Nov. 16, 2025, after a prolonged illness.
In a tribute letter signed by Gideon Iwueke, state chairman of SWAN, on Tuesday, the association said it received with deep sorrow the passing of the highly revered Photo Journalist..
SWAN described the late former Enugu State SWAN chairman, as more than a media practitioner.
The statement reads in part: “He was a pillar of professionalism, whose contributions enriched Nigerian sports journalism.
”His calm disposition; exceptional work ethics; and unwavering dedication earned him respect across the sports community at home and abroad.
”SWAN mourns with Okolie’s family;; Rangers International FC; and the entire sports fraternity over the painful loss.
“His departure creates a void that will be difficult to fill, but his memory and the impact of his work will continue to inspire generations of sports journalists. “
Late Okolie was born on 23 September 1973 and worked at Daily Star Newspapers, Enugu State.
