.DR MARTIN CHUKWUNWEIKE: A RARE GEM

There is a popular saying that when a good man is in Authority the People rejoice aptly captures the mood in Enugu State today.
The Enugu house of Assembly today Screened five Commissioner designates at the hollowed Chambers this morning and the first nominee that was Screened was the Affabled Medical Doctor Cum Politician Dr Martin Chukwunweike who was well received by the house and when the Speaker addressed the audience during the Screening, he spoke highly of this three time Commissioner as having passed through the house and in fulfilment of the house rules was asked to introduce himself.
The member Representing Awgu South Constituency Hon Anthony Chukwudi Nwankwo described Dr Martin Chukwunweike. as a well refined gentle man who has Shown capacity with the Previous Commissioner Positions he has held in the Past and was Supported by Hon Jane Eneh member Representing Awgu North who paid glowing tribute to the exemplary commitment and leadership he has brought to bear in the discharge of his duties.
The Speaker then asked Dr Martin to take a bow and go. It will be recalled that it was during his Stint as Commissioner for health that every Community in Enugu State had the opportunity to witness free Maternal health project that became a reference point in the annals of health care provision to the grassroots as this project made it possible for every Community to have access to Medical Personnel that included Medical Doctors, nurses and Pharmacists every week.
It was such a huge Success that the Project became a national health Policy of many States.
As the Commissioner of Education new educational advances was made that brought about improved Performance of Pupils and infrastructural development in the Education Sector.
Further more it was during his time that Enugu State college of Education (Technical) was Established in the State.
In the words of Pauly Onyele, Dr Martin Chukwunweike is a man with the Midas touch and will surely be a great asset in any Ministry he will be assigned to take Charge in this dispensation
