
Dr. Engr. Peter Ogbobe, the Director General of Projects Development Institute, Enugu (PRODA) has fulfilled his promise to reward participants of the 2024 PRODA Sports Festival.
At the end of the sports festival, all the participants including players and officials of football, Volleyball and others were rewarded with cash gifts.
Speaking during the closing ceremony, Ogbobe reiterated his earlier call on the athletes for fair play and commended them for their spirit of sportsmanship.

He said that the essence of the PRODA annual sports festival was to ensure peace and friendliness among members of staff, adding that it is also a period of energy, enthusiasm, and celebration.
“Our annual sports festival is more than just a gathering to showcase athletic talent; it’s an opportunity for each one of us to connect, compete, and cheer each other on, embodying the values of teamwork, resilience, and dedication.
“Sport is a powerful force, it doesn’t just push us to excel physically but teaches us invaluable life lessons-discipline, perseverance, and the spirit of fair play, ” he said.
According to him, sports reminds us that even in the face of challenge, there’s always an opportunity to rise, to improve, and to support one another.
“The lessons we learn here on the field, we carry into our lives- building character and forging friendships, ” Ogbobe said.
He commended the athletes for their hardwork and commitment.
“Winning is wonderful, but competing with integrity and respect for your opponents is the true mark of a champion.
“Let’s remember to celebrate not only the winners but also everyone who steps up and gives their best, ” he said.
He thanked the organizers, coaches, and volunteers, for their dedication and commitment to make the event a success.
