The Executive Chairman Of Nsukka LGA Hon Barrister Walter Ozioko since inception of office on 3rd March 2022, have remained on the news for excellent both on local, state/national news outlets mostly for what many have called the uncommon legacy/scorecard of a local government Chairman in Nigeria, mostly in Nsukka LGA Enugu State, where a sitting local government Chairman Hon Ozioko in less than 2years in office has become the second Mayor of the council since 1988/89 to asphalt a public road after the former Mayor Hon Otti. And Ozioko currently in history as first Mayor of the council to boast of numerous asphalt roads (about 5 asphalt roads) and other multimillion naira projects undertaken by him; cutting across Education, skill-acquisition, Rural-Electrification, Rural-Roads, Health, Agriculture, Commerce, Sports, Security, empowerment-packages etc without borrowing a dime nor owing contractors or civil-workers salary, instead it has been recorded, how he have paid off numerous accumulated debts by previous administrations.
His great works in Nsukka LGA drew attention of many bodies and investors across the country towards Nsukka LGA; the council hosting the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka-UNN. His choice of leadership, born out of genuine passion to serve in all honesty and fear of God, thereby placing him in the good heart of many, as many both old/young as well as the greater majority of the masses craves for his continuity in leadership.
Today, his massive asphalt road networks in Nsukka LGA have naturally/miraculous solved the perennial gridlocks/traffic congestion within the popular Ogige-Nsukka market environ and the Enugu road axis, since the Mayor has been able to create accessible asphalt link-roads between the 3major markets in Nsukka (Ogige,Ikpa and Aku-Road Market) thereby promoting economic activities within the local government and naturally bringing to an end the council’s gridlock nightmares.
Ozioko’s testament which reveal some of the secrets behind his amazing performance in less than two years in office proves that the Mayor was never a politician ab-initio; but came into politics recently from a private sector as a successful business mogul where he had built an empire of a successful transport company based in Lagos with braches across many states of the country as CEO Chukwubuikem-Motors CBM.
Prior to his emergence as Mayor, it’s being testified by many, of how Hon Ozioko has before then, used his personal money to grade/construct rural roads anytime he comes back home from Lagos. Therefore his choice of massive asphalt roads and other multimillion naira projects for the masses is not far fetched from public challenges which he has noticed over the years and have always intervened on them within his capacity then.
From Ozioko’s humongous records in office so far, one can say that opportunity simply met a prepared man ready to meticulously serve with passion and conscientiousness in the fear of God.

•Renovation of some pertinent sections of Nsukka LG Main Administrative Complex. - Renovating a section of Nigeria Police Area Command, Nsukka
- Massive Land reclamation at Adada house environ.
- Lacing some of the roads constructed and the roads leading to Adada House and LGA Secretariat and their environs with solar street lights
- Motorized Water project at Opi Idi ogbozara ward
- Massive rural electrification project at Lejja.
- Installation of 500KVA transformer at Owere Obimo
- Erosion control through construction of an elaborate culvert at Alu Udele
- Construction of four flood control dams at Uwal Ugwu in Nkpunano and Ikwoka in Obimo/Ikwoka Ward
- Expansion of Aku Road Market by constructing an ultra-modern Aku Road Wholesale Market
- Establishment of vegetable market and construction of lock-up shops at Ikpa Market
- Construction of multimillion naira shopping plaza at Eke Edem
- Environmental sanitation; clearing of drainages/waterways and restoration of environmental sanity in Nsukka LGA
HEALTH:
•Establishment of Edem Ani Health Centre, Ekabishiyi Obimo Health Centre and other numerous interventions in the health sector.
- Preliminary reinforcement of the health sector through supports for the health workers.
- Partnering with the State government in the Area of health as it’s being witnessed through Polio immunization.
SECURITY:
- Revamping and procurement of security equipment and vehicles and for fortifying the Nsukka LGA Neighborhood Watch
- Start to finish first ever Nsukka LGA forest guard building
- Massive decline in the consumption of hard drugs in Nsukka LGA through a robust partnership with the drug law enforcement agents.
- Construction of security house at Opi-Ugwogo Road
- Reconstructing and regularly maintaining two barricade points at Opi-Ugwogo Road etc
