
Awka, March1, 2024The Eight Members of the Labour Party (LP) in Anambra 8th Assembly has disclosed their willingness to spend Nine Million Six hundred thousand to patrner the government in alleviating hardship experienced by Anambra residents.
The Information was disclosed on during a press briefing in Awka by leader of LP cacus in Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr John Umunnajiego representing Onitsha South 2.
Umunnajiego said that they have resolved to cushion the hardship of the people by donating their six months basic salary to Anambra people through a well orgainsed means to ensure no one is left out.
He said that LP Anambra cacus appeals to the Federal and State governments to piroities hunger, health and insecurity to social infrastructure in the next Six months so as to give life to citizens first.
He commended the federal and state government in their bid to provide social infrastructures to the people but called for prompt attention to basic needs which is food, good health and security.
“It will be appreciated if the government’s suspends projects that do not have direct effects on people and provide stomach infrastructure,health and security and projects.
” it is only healthy and the living prople that will enjoy the social infrastructure,so we ask that basic needs like food,security and working hospital be provided,” he said.
Mr Henry Mbachu, representing Awka South 1 said that it would be insensitive on their part to pretend that all is well while people are dying of hunger and killed on daily basis.
Mbachu urged other lawmakers both at National and State levels to make sacrifice substantial enough to change the narrative of poverty level on the country.
Mr Fred Ezenwa said that the cacaus have put in place organised method to use so that everyone benefits from this charity work.
Ezenwa urged other legislators across the country to show charity to people who have put their trust in their hands.

Their decision was informed by their party leader, HIs Excellency Mr Peter Obi who called out on the federal and state governments to bring food on the tables of Nigerians.
