
Members of Awgu EXCO and LP stakeholders
The Awgu Local Government Labour Party Executives and other Stakeholders of the party in the area recently paid a solidarity visit to the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the party, Dr John Okechukwu Nwokeabia at his Enugu Residence.
The visit was led by the Chairman of labour party in the local government, Engr Ikechukwu Igwebuike.
In his speech, the Chairman noted that the visit was to acknowledge the fact that His Excellency, was the leader of the party in Enugu West.
Igwebuike said that it was very necessary for the Executives, Stakeholders and Party faithful to pay a solidarity visit to reinforce the relationship between the local government area and the leadership of the Party.
He said the unprecedented upset created by the paety in the last election in Enugu State was as a result of the exemplary leadership and commitment of Dr Nwokeabia and his team.
Some Stakeholders who accompanied the Party Executives include Hon Aganigbo Chimezie, Agu Emmanuel, Dr Jeremiah Okolinta, Tasie Onyiba, Engr Daniel Anude, Engr and Madu Chimezie.
Others are, Barrister C Chukwu and Ogbuefi Hyacinth Okechukwu.
Speaking, Aganigbo Chimezie went memory lane to reel out how the Chairmanship of the local government has moved from one zone to the other.
Hon Chimezie thanked Dr Nwokeabia for his leadership qualitaty that has brought peace and stability in the party within such a short time which had made LP the toast of the people of Enugu State.
There were other dignitaries, who spoke at the event before the host Dr John Nwokeabia stood up to address the audience.
Nwokeabia noted that he was happy that Awgu labour party faithful came to pay him a solidarity visit and used the occasion to remind them that the reason labour party came on board was because of the shortchange by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He said that after 24 years in power, the PDP could not point out their major achievements which gave Enugu people a reason to try a new party with a genuine change mantra.
According to him, LP came with a new mantra of how they could change the fortunes of the people and was accepted with the manner they came out enmass to vote for the labour Party.
He further urged the labour Party faithful in both in Awgu and entire Enugu State to continue in prayers for the Judgement for the Governorship to be in tandem with the wishes of the masses.
