The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has join numerous citizens of the state to celebrate Gov.Charles Soludo as he marks two years in office.
Udeze described the achievements of the governor in space of two years as transformative and expression of capability of piloting the state to greater heights.
Udeze’s commendation was contained in his congratulatory message to the Governor made avaliable to journalists in Awka on Sunday by Mr Emma Madu,Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker.
He said that the governor’s remarkable achievements in the state’s economy across various sectors over the past two years is unprecedented.
Udeze’s congratulatory message delivered on behalf of the State Legislature, described Soludo’s tenure as eventful and highlighted his commitment to fiscal responsibility.
He noted that despite legislative approval for borrowing, Soludo has prioritized the use of available funds, delivering tangible human capital and infrastructural development for Anambra (the people of Anambra).
The Speaker commended Soludo’s focus on his “Five Transformational Theoretical Framework”:which are – Sustainable environment and urban development, – Public service reform
- Revised justice and security architecture
- Infrastructural and economic transformation
- Human capital and social development
He emphasised how these frameworks have guided the governor’s comprehensive development efforts across the state.
The Speaker outlined some of the Soludo’s key achievements, to include:Recruitment of 5,000 teachers with an ongoing recruitment drive for an additional 3,000, Employment of 400 healthcare workers alongside the construction and rehabilitation of hospitals.
He also stated the Implementation of free education, Completion and ongoing road construction projects across numerous local government area, Improved security measures leading to increased safety for residents
Udeze noted that the Initiatives in environmental sanitation and urban regeneration of the governor is superlative, A strengthened agricultural system,
Youth empowerment programs, The ongoing construction of a new Government House and Governor’s Lodge speaks volumes.
The Speaker further elaborated on his recent tour alongside lawmakers to inspect completed and ongoing road projects.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work, the pace of progress, and the number of roads addressed, including the Ekwulobia flyover bridge.
Udeze called for continued bipartisan support for Soludo’s administration, urging all Anambra, regardless of political affiliation, to back his leadership.
He expressed gratitude to the Governor for his commitment to the State House of Assembly, including the recently completed reconstruction and beautification of the Legislative Complex and office block.
He also acknowledged the Governor’s pledge to commence the second phase of the Assembly’s transformation.
Udeze reaffirmed the State Legislature’s commitment to working collaboratively with the Executive Arm.
“The Assembly will continue to support Governor Soludo’s governance through the enactment of laws and resolutions focused on improving the lives of Anambra citizens and fostering the state’s overall development,” he said.
