The Youth wing of the Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF) was at the weekend Inaugurated in Enugu by the National Leadership of the Pan Igbo Socio cultural group.
The Chairman Board of Trustees (BoT), Bishop Obi Udezue Onukogu in his opening remarks noted that unity of Purpose was the watchword of the ADF, stressing that the Youths have been very absent in the affairs of the group.
In a brief speech the Director of Operations, Mazi Arch Eric Eyitchae likened the Alaigbo to the Jews experience before the 1948 declaration.
The President of the ADF, Prof Timothy Uzodinma Nwala, in his reaction to the Inauguration explained that the Vanguard of Struggle means that the Youths have to come with their energy in the battle and struggle for existence as Nigerian Youths today lacks the the consciousness of who they are and the world is now aware of the issues confronting Ndigbo.
He wondered what has happened to the Abam warriors looking at the recent incidents that took place at Lokpanta Abia state.
Prof Nwala posited that there is need now to revive the Marshall Spirit back to be vibrant and this attempt to disarm the Youths in the south east and arm the fulanis must stop.
The Youths have no choice but to stand up and defend their land. In a related development there is need for cooperatives to be formed and from a recent function at mbaise in imo State Alaigbo can conviniently go into farming and feed the teeming people as the area is blessed with fertile land but need the freedom and security to meet up with good results he concluded.
