The acting Project Coordinator (Appeals) Enugu State, Mrs Ihuoma Eze was recently honoured by the South East media Forum with their distinguished leadership Award 2023.
APPEALS an acronym for Agro processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood improvement support project is a
collaboration between the state government and the World Bank. In a citation at the Award ceremony.
Mrs Ihuoma was described as a results driven project
manager with diverse portfolio experience spanning from women and youth empowerment, livelihood and social/Environmental safe guards, Agriculture, Public Administration and human resources management. A highly spirited alpha female, diligent, innovative, proactive and goal oriented team player.
As the Acting State Project Coordinator of the recently concluded APPEALS project in Enugu State, a world bank assisted Project with its primary objective of enhancing the productivity of small and medium scale farmers along eleven priority value chains in Nigeria.
Mrs Ihuoma Eze coordinated her colleagues to record enviable results in impacting humanity through the activities of the Appeals project in Enugu state.
These the report include but not limited to, the support of a total of 5,573 farmers in Enugu State, who received grants in form of input and technology support for production, processing and marketing of cashew, rice and poultry as well as building capacity for agronomy practices with a start-up grant empowerment of 1700 beneficiaries of women and youth empowerment programme.
Mrs Ihuoma made her foray into World Bank projects when she worked with NEWMAP from where she crossed over to APPEALS project for 5 years.
The citation noted that in the discharge of duties achieved the task of ensuring that APPEALS met its project development objectives, emerging the best in the country in fund utilization (93.3%) and best performance based on activities (100%) with an avalanche of positive impacts on the people of the state and humanity at large.
It is against this background that the South East Media Forum found Mrs Ihuoma as an Exemplary leader and hence the award.
