By Nobert Okolo
The Labour Party (LP) Enugu State Governorship rally for ACHI Ward was Concluded Wednesday evening with funfare and decision of the Ugama people to embrace the labour Party in this coming February and March elections in the country and ENUGU State in Particular.
In a well advertised rally that attracted labour Party faithfuls from all over Oji River LGA and beyond the event which had the imprint of the cerebral Chief Emma OBI whose attention to details is Second to none lived to it’s billing on the arrival of His Excellency Barrister Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga the Governorship Candidate of the Party in ENUGU State,His Deputy Governorship Candidate Dr John Okechukwu Nwokeabia.
Also on the entourage were; Enugu West Senatorial Candidate, Dr Dennis Amadi Oguerinwa, Awgu Aninri, Ojiriver federal Constituency Engr Chijioke Okereke (Onyiringugba) Barrister Chibuzor Onyema, Hon Emma Ogbozor, Osita Eze, Alex Obiechinna and a host of other Stakeholders from the Ward 1 Achi Uno and beyond were all present to witness the great event.
The high point of the event was when a major stakeholder of the Party from the Ward and labor Party Chieftain in the State NZE JEFF UKEH (Egbeigwe Jesus) addressed the Audience .
He went memory lane to State that after more than 23 years of the PDP Leadership in the state and inspite of the fact that their Son is the Current Secretary of the Party in Enugu State, it was a pity that there is nothing to show for it.
“Rather the tarred road from Ekegbo Achi to isikwe was attracted by the former Deputy Senate President, Dr Ike Ekweremadu and Toby Okechukwu who is currently in the green Chambers, ” he said.
He also regretted that the cottage hospital in the Ward and some other Projects are from the effort of the Ugama people.
According to him, the last straw in the leadership of the outgoing Administration of Governor Ugwuanyi is the movement of the administration of Oji River school of Health technology that will now be a second Campus to the School of Health Technology Nsukka, inspite of the fact that Oji River School of Health Technology was founded so many years ago before the Nsukka institution.
The Labour Party Governorship Candidate Barrister Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga who could not hide his excitement at the commitment of the ACHI UNO WARD to enthrone new leadership promised to look into their demands if Voted in the coming Election.
and the event then moved to the expansive home of Chief Emma OBI who lavishly entertained the Guests with different varieties of Achi delicacies.
