Dr Somtochukwu Udeze,
Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly,said that no one is created without potential and urged all special persons to see ability in disabilities.
Udeze called on government at different levels to make policies that will bring persons living with disabilities at par with other citizens by creating an enabling environment for them to showcase their potentials.
The speaker said in his goodwill message to the Disability community as the Global community marks 2025 year’s International Day of persons with disabilities through his press secretary,Mr Emma Madu and made available to journalists on Wednesday in Awka.
Udeze maintained that the cardinal aim of marking the International Day of persons with disabilities is to promote their rights and well-being in all spheres, and to integrate them into the society without any form of discrimination or rejection.
Udeze, commended the 6th Anambra State House of Assembly for enacting a law for the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities in the State, which he said, gave rise to the establishment of the Anambra State Disability Rights Commission on December 3, 2021.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of support and assistance the Governor,Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has continued to give to the commission for its sustenance.
Udeze enjoined well meaning individuals in the state to commit part of their resources to enhance the plights of the disables, and to also
map out measures to improve their living standard in line with the International best practices towards building a sustainable, inclusive and just future for them.
He urged persons with disabilities to strive to live above all kinds of discrimination and stigmatisation by being focused and determined to make a mark even in their challenges.

The theme which aims to reaffirm the commitment to create a more just, inclusive, equitable, and sustainable world for all.
