The desperate incumbent legislator representing Awka South Constituency 1, just about a few hours ordered stench looking thugs to cause mayhem at King David Hotel, where the primary election for the State house of Assembly was ongoing.
From the information gathered it was Nnamdi Okafor’s plan, or rather plan B, to ensure the election doesn’t hold the moment he notice things is not going his way.
Our source has it that many delegates and stakeholder were against the use of King David as venue because Nnamdi Okafor is a regularly face there and sometimes determine what happens there.
And on the eve to the election, it was learnt that the same Okafor had an all night party and actually lodged all the delegates in the same hotel.
How the APGA ad-hoc committee allowed this to happen or how they manage to still hold such primary in a venue where an aspirant hold sway doesn’t send the right signal.
It is appalling to imagine a sitting house member engage in such inglorious act.
Hon. Emeka Igwe, his only rival, who is known to be the biggest nightmare of Nnamdi Okafor, has continued to maintain the status of a quality leader, carrying out his activities in the right way.
That he is considered as the favourite to win the primary election is as result of the general acceptance among his people.
Hon. Nnamdi Okafor should know by now that his time is up and no amount of desperation can redeem his battered image.
His action had led to the cancellation of the primary. We call on the party leadership to sanction him accordingly.
