Barr. Chima Obieze and the current member representing Ezeagu constituency in Enugu State House of assembly has emerged as the flag bearer of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for next year’sGeneral election.
In the primaries conducted on Thursday, 4th October, 2018 at Ezeagu Lodge popularly known as Igbudu lodge, Aguobu Own, Ezeagu Local Government Area.
Accreditation of both statutory and elected delegates from the 20 wards of the Local Government commenced by 02:07PM.
The returning officer for the primary election, Hon. Obiora Onyia Tega addressed the delegates on the need to abide by the guidelines of the party for the process.
Voting Commenced by 03:09PM and the deputy governor of the Enugu State who is from Ezeagu local government was the first to vote from Aguobu Owa ward where is hails from.
Hon. Obieze casted his own vote by 03:20PM and the voting by all accredited delegates finished voting by 03:28PM.
In announcing the results after counting, the returning officer, Hon. Onyia thanked the members of the party in the Local Government Area for their conduct throughout the process of the primaries and the representatives of Independent National Electoral Commission present to monitor the exercise.

He went ahead to announce that Barr. Obieze scored a total of 184 votes that is the total number of all valid votes and declare him the winner of the primary election
“My the power vested on me as the returning officer for this primary election, I hereby declare Barr. Chima Obieze, the winner of this election”election.
In his acceptance speech, Barr. Obieze who couldn’t hide his joy thanked God immensely and all the people present for the election.
“I want to take this time to thank the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the awesome God of David, who is the giver of power for indeed, power comes from him God”.
“I thank in a special way, the entire PDP members In Ezeagu Local Government constituency who today have demontrated their confidence and love for me through their ballot”.
“I thank also, all the PDP stakeholders in Ezeagu, the deputy Governor of Enugu State, the chief of Staff to the Governor of Enugu State, the Chairman of Ezeagu LGA, the youths of Ezeagu.
The Party chairman in Ezeagu Local Government for ensuring a level playing ground for all the aspirants”.
He also called on all other aspirants to join him as his victory is a victory for the PDP because in this contest, there is no Victor and no vanquished.
