The member representing Ikot Ekpene/Essien Udim/Obot Akara Federal Constituency, Dr. Patrick Umoh, KSJI, has extolled the leadership qualities of Senator Godswill Akpabio the President of 10th Senate adding that himself and his constituents were never in doubt of Akpabio’s capacity to deliver dividends of democracy to Nigerians.

Presenting a gift which comprised a patterned portmanteau made of raffia, a pair of raffia shoes and other symbolic cultural artifacts that signifies royalty in the Annang culture, Dr. Umoh rechoed the confidence the people of Ikot Ekpene, Essien Udim and Obot Akara have in the Distinguished Senator.
He said “we have no doubt in your capacity to deliver as the President of the 10th Senate”.
“We are very pleased, we are very happy, very excited today that we are celebrating you as the 3rd Citizen of our Country”.
He further made reference to the track records of the Senate President when he was Governor and expressed confidence that his emergence as President of the 10th Senate will bring development and national unity to Nigeria.
The event was held at Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, also known as the Raffia City, a historic town in Southern Nigeria renowned as the commercial centre for the export of palm and raffia produce.
In company of the Senate President were Senators Dave Umahi; Sunday Karimi; Onyekachi Nwebonyi; (AVM) Napoleon Bali, rtd; Patrick Ndubueze and Tony Nwoye. Also in attendance were Hon. Clement Jimbo, member representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Unyime Etim, Hon. (Mrs) Agnes C.Udoenwewen, the Local Government Chairmen of Ikot Ekpene and Obot Akara respectively, other notable sons and daughters of the Federal Constituency.
