His sterling philanthropic acts, no doubt has earned him many recognitions and accolades, from individuals and organisations, both locally and internationally.

So in appreciating his contributions towards community development in Awka and the State at large, the Catholic Men Organisation, St. Francis of Asisi Parish, Awka, bestowed on him with an award of ‘Community/Humanitarian Service’.
Presenting the award to the philanthropist, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Joe Akubuike, also an awardee, expressed delight that Anambra State is lucky to have people like Emeka Igwe as its son.

Dr Akubuike who said it was indeed an honour well deserving, encouraged Igwe not to rest on his oars but continue to be selfless in his humanitarian works.
Receiving the award, *Engr Emeka Igwe*, who is contesting the *Anambra State House of Assembly, Awka South 1*, thanked the Organizers for founding him worthy. He dedicated the award to the less privileged out there, while also promising to continue to contribute to the growth of the church.
Recall that Emeka Igwe recently sponsored a 5 days Free Medical Outreach in Awka South 1, where over 3000 residents benefited from the exercise.
Other individuals who were recognised include; Prince Obinna Ndigwe, who won an award for humanitarian service; Mrs Sarah Ihedinma Egbetade, Assistant Manager, Diamond Bank, Awka, who was honoured for human resource management, amongst others.
