A suit has been filed against Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the newly appointed Chief of Staff to President Bola A. Tinubu, by Gloria’s Foundation For Health Education a Non Governmental Organization based in the United States of America and Nwonu Ignatius Ozoemena an indigene of Ukehe, Igboetiti LGA, Enugu state resident in FCT Abuja.

The suit filed through a writ of summon against Femi Gbajabiamila, on 13th June, 2023 before the FCT High Court, by Gloria’s Foundation For Health Education a Non Governmental Organization and Nwonu Ignatius Ozoemena who are said to be the Claimants in the suit in question.
FirstNews reports that the suit was respectively filled by F. I Nwodo (Esq, FCPAN) Principal/founder of IFESI NWODO & CO chambers on 13th June, 2023 at the FCT High court, Abuja.
The Claimants among other things are demanding the sum of #100,000,000.00 (One Hundred Million Naira) only as general damage on the injury and permanent scare inflicted on the 2nd Claimant on 17th December, 2017.
The Claimants alleged that on 17th December, 2017, Gbajabiamila’s convoy heat Nwonu Ignatius Ozoemena, along AP petrol station in App zone B extension, during his reign as Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives.
In an interview with Chief F. I Nwodo counsel to the Claimants immediately after filling the suit, he said that several efforts were made to see that the case was settled through Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR) but to no avail as the 1st Defendant (Gbajabiamila) refused to respond to a letter written to him dated and served on him on 8th and 9th August, 2022 respectively.
He explained that he had approached some of the 1st Defendants’ friends who promised to bring the case to his notice for possible settlement but nothing was judiciously done.
According to Nwodo, “We had to approach the court of law which is the hope of common man because as it stands now the 2nd Claimant (Nwonu Ignatius Ozoemena) is having a serious health challenge as a result of the injuries inflicted on him as a result of the hit and run action of Gbajabiamila’s convoy adding that he is the verge of losing one of his eyes.”
