Port Harcourt – Africa’s energy giant, Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, has said that collaboration among oil and gas players will grow the sector and make the country’s to utilise its vast resources.
Mr Tony Attah, Manging Director of the company, made the call in a statement issued by the company’s spokesperson, Mr Michael Adande, in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Attah made the remarks during the opening ceremony of the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ 2025 Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) held in Lagos.
The managing director stated that collaboration between Renaissance Energy and key players in the oil and gas industry would foster an attractive environment to invest in.
Represented by the company’s Chief Technical Officer, Mr Abdulrahman Mijinyawa, Attah expressed confidence that such strategic partnerships would enable the country to better utilise its vast oil and gas resources.
“It will also elevate Nigeria to the forefront of Africa’s energy landscape.
“This is our strategy at Renaissance, which operates Nigeria’s largest upstream joint venture, alongside NNPC Limited, TotalEnergies, Agip Energy, and Natural Resources Limited (AENR),’’ he said.
Attah noted that company was positioning itself as a continental leader, focused on energy security across Africa and the sustainable industrialisation of Nigeria’s energy sector.
He described collaboration as one of the keys to enable Nigeria to regain its pride of place on the continent.
Commenting on Nigeria’s oil production, Attah disclosed that the company had, in the past four months, increased oil production by about 40 per cent, in support of the Federal Government’s 2.06 million bpd production target.
He further said that production increase had enabled the company to meet its contractual gas supply obligations to the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) – for the first time in five years.
He said that the company was committed to support industrialisation, job creation, and economic growth in Nigeria.
Attah, however, described the annual NAICE conference as a vital platform where stakeholders converge to address the complex challenges facing the energy sector.
He added that participating petroleum engineers were collectively seeking solutions to advance Nigeria’s economy, while fulfilling national and global energy needs in a safe, secure, and sustainable manner. (NAN)
