Abuja, March 26, 2026 (NAN) The Managing Director/CEO of NWDC, Prof. Shehu Abdullahi Ma’aji, has received UNESCO Head in Abuja, Mr. Jean-Paul Ngome Abiaga, and his delegation at the Commission’s Kano headquarters.

Ma’aji said NWDC prioritises youth engagement, girl-child education, quality learning access, and basic healthcare.
“These pillars are critical to sustainable development and social stability in the North-West,” he said.
He reiterated readiness to collaborate with UNESCO, presenting a proposal on key areas.

“We seek strategic partnerships that deliver measurable impact for our communities,” Ma’aji added.
Abiaga commended the Commission’s agenda and welcomed the proposal.

“UNESCO is committed to supporting inclusive education and youth empowerment initiatives aligned with NWDC’s vision,” he said.
Both parties expressed optimism about a strong partnership. “Together, we can drive community development and create lasting opportunities across the region,” Abiaga noted. (NAN)
