Port Harcourt – The Federal Government has called on civil servants across the country to adopt the ongoing reforms and the newly introduced digital platforms to enhance efficiency and overall performance.
Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, made this appeal on Friday during an interactive session with federal civil servants in Port Harcourt.
She emphasised that embracing these reforms would enable federal employees to make significant contributions to nation’s progress while ensuring that public services continued to meet the evolving needs of citizens.
Walson-Jack highlighted the critical role of a strong civil service in determining the effectiveness of government operations and national development.
“The Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) is committed to ensuring that our federal secretariates remain functional, well-maintained, and that welfare is adequately addressed,” she stated.
She explained that the ongoing reforms aimed at establishing a well-structured civil service that prioritises productivity, professionalism and excellence.
She listed the reforms as Rewards and Recognition, Incentives and Consequence Management, Mentoring, and the Protocol for the use of Federal Secretariats.
“These policies are currently in the process of approval and implementation within the Federal Civil Service nationwide,” Walson-Jack added.

She further disclosed that the OHSCF had launched four new digital platforms designed to enhance access to information and training for civil servants across the country.
“The digital platforms include Service-Wise GPT, an AI tool designed to improve productivity and efficiency, and the Online Compendium of Circulars, a comprehensive database providing access to all circulars dating back to 1995.
“Additionally, there is the Service Welfare Newsletter, a platform enabling civil servants to submit information for publication by OHCSF, and the Federal Civil Service Online Academy, which offers online training for federal employees.
“All these platforms are accessible via the OHCSF website: www.ohcsf.gov.ng,” she noted.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Walson-Jack also inspected the Federal Secretariate in Port Harcourt, which was constructed over 35 years ago.
Sahe assured workers that the OHCSF would review its budgetary provision for the rehabilitation of the complex.
She encouraged civil servants to explore the newly introduced digital platforms and utilise the available resources to enhance their professional development.
The head of service further urged workers to familiarise themselves with the Civil Service Anthem, which embodies the values of efficiency, productivity, incorruptibility, and a citizen-focused service.
“These values are essential in building a civil service that meets the needs of the people while upholding the highest standards of professionalism,” Walson-Jack concluded
