Abuja, Feb. 11, 2026 (NAN) The Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute (OSHRI) will hold a one-day intensive training on workplace accident reporting in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt on Feb. 16.
The training, titled Workplace Safety on Accident Reporting, is designed for employees, supervisors, and safety representatives across industries, with limited slots available in each location.
Ngozi Atasie-Ihezuo, Chief Growth Officer of OSHRI, said the programme aims to strengthen accident reporting culture and reduce preventable workplace incidents nationwide.

“Accidents and near misses are often ignored or poorly documented. Proper reporting is the first step to preventing a repeat occurrence,” she said.
She stressed that timely and accurate reporting was essential for legal compliance, risk control, and the protection of workers’ lives and assets.
According to her, the training will cover accident identification, reporting procedures, investigation basics, and documentation in line with international best practices.
“This course is short but intensive. In one to two hours, participants will gain practical skills they can immediately apply at work,” Atasie-Ihezuo said.
She added that the programme would also promote transparency and shared responsibility between employers and employees on safety matters.
The CPD-certified training will be delivered in virtual and classroom formats, allowing participants to choose their preferred mode of learning.
She urged organisations to take advantage of the programme, noting that “a strong safety culture begins with knowledge and accountability.
“The training fee is N50,000 per participant.
“Participants will receive a N5,000 discount for every colleague they bring to the training who pays the registration fee.
