Akure, Nov. 15, 2025 – The Ondo State Government on Saturday removed several billboard frames obstructing ongoing infrastructural works around the NEPA axis and High Court Road in Akure.

Yòmí Light Oyékàn, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage and Advertisement, said he personally supervised the exercise following an urgent advisory from the Ministry of Infrastructure.

According to him, the removal was necessary to create space for the installation of new traffic lights and to ensure smooth progress on the rehabilitation of the NEPA Roundabout.
Oyékàn added that some illegal billboard structures were also identified and dismantled during the operation, in line with the Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency’s (OSSAA) mandate to sanitize the state’s signage environment.

He advised owners of authorized but affected structures to visit the OSSAA office for discussions on the re-allocation of their frames.
“We regret any inconvenience caused and assure all stakeholders of proper guidance on the next steps,” he said.
