In a bid to keep to the aphorism ‘a square peg in a square hole’, the Executive Chairman of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu, has appointed, Barr. Casmir Ademu, as Secretary of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Council area.
Barr. Casmir Ademu is a former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Enugu North Senatorial Zone and also the immediate past Organasing Secretary of the PDP Enugu North Senatorial Zone.
Ademu distinguished himself in both offices he occupied and it earned him a robust relationship with his boss, the immediate past Enugu North Zonal Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Nze Michael Onyeze and other members of the zonal executives of the party.
Barr. Ezugwu who appointed Ademu on the 12th of November, 2024 at the council headquarters Umulopka, swore him into office immediately to resume his duties as the scribe of the council.
In his remarks after appointing Ademu as Secretary of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Council, the Chairman described Ademu as a jolly good fellow who is always at peace with everyone that comes his way.
According to Ezugwu, “We came to the conclusion of appointing Barr. Casmir Ademu as Secretary of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Council because of his track record of capacity, his infectious sense of humor and sociable character.
“We need a material like him in our administration of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Council Area. We are here to give Uzo-Uwani people the best of service that will take our local government to the next level,”.
He urged Ademu to brace up for work as his mission in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Council is to translate the Tomorrow is Here mantra of the working Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah.
Reacting to his appointment, Barr. Casmir Ademu, thanked the Chairman of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area for considering him fit to occupy the revered seat of the Secretary of the council area.
Ademu who is also an Engineer, promised to give his best to ensure the success of the administration in the council area adding, “I will never take this gesture for granted. I will do all I can to ensure that we succeed in meeting with the yearnings of the good people of Uzo-Uwani,”
In his goodwill remarks, the immediate past Enugu North Zonal Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Nze Michael Onyeze, commended the Chairman of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area for appointing Ademu as Secretary of the council.
Onyeze who was Ademu’s boss while in their service to the party, described Ademu as a partner in progress who does not play with his assigned duties.
He said, “I assure you that Ademu will not disappoint your trust. I wish your administration success because you have started well by appointing an experienced and quality hand to work with you as Secretary,”.
FirstNews reports that the Chairman also appointed Chief Onyeji Kingsley as his Chief Media Aide.
