Abuja, Feb. 5, 2026 (NAN) The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has pledged robust media support for Nigeria’s hosting of the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT).
Kayode Adeniyi, General Manager, NTA Sports Channel, gave the assurance while receiving a delegation of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) in Abuja.
The delegation was led by LGAN President, Lami Ahmed, following Nigeria’s successful bid to host the continental women’s golf championship.

Adeniyi said his long-standing relationship with LGAN and women’s golf strengthened his commitment to the association and the upcoming championship.
“I see myself as a member of LGAN, having covered ladies’ golf extensively since 2010,” Adeniyi said.

He noted that golf had given him significant international exposure and reaffirmed NTA’s readiness to promote the AACT positively.
Adeniyi said the championship would project Nigeria as safe, welcoming, and economically vibrant to the rest of Africa and the global community.
“NTA will give the AACT elaborate coverage that sends a strong positive signal about Nigeria to Africa and the world,” he said.

He promised that NTA would collaborate closely with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for wide-reaching publicity.
“We will work assiduously with Victor Okoye of NAN who is also the Vice Chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), FCT to ensure massive media coverage of the event across all platforms,” Adeniyi said.
LGAN President, Lami Ahmed, thanked NTA for years of consistent support to women’s golf in Nigeria.

Ahmed noted that LGAN recently won the bid to host the 2026 AACT, scheduled for Nov. 1 to Nov. 7 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja.
She described the AACT as a biennial continental competition last hosted by Nigeria in 2010.

Ahmed said preparations were ongoing, adding that stakeholder engagement was key to delivering a successful championship.
“We are visiting stakeholders to share our story and seek support to host Africa successfully in November,” she said.
She expressed confidence that Nigeria would deliver a world-class event showcasing its hospitality and organisational capacity.

NAN reports that the highlight of the visit was the LGAN delegation’s tour of the NTA facility, including the studio and control room. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
