Abuja, Nov. 24, 2025 (NAN) Nigeria Customs Head of Sports, Samuel Onikeku, has attributed his team’s success to the support received from the Comptroller General of Customs, Dr Adewale Adeniyi, following his team’s victory at the just concluded 2024 Super Volleyball Championship.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigeria Customs beat Ghana Air Force 3–0 to win the 2025 Super Volleyball Championship in the women’s category in Accra.
The team finished the tournament unbeaten, recording wins over Ghana Navy, Kalibi, Ghana Immigration and Elwak Wings.
Onikeku said the victory followed the strong investment and support of the CGC
He said Adeniyi created an environment that allowed the players to maximise their potential throughout the competition.
He praised the players and technical crew for their commitment and for securing Nigeria’s top finish.
He thanked Adeniyi for sustaining the team’s participation and dedicated the championship trophy to the CGC.
He said the campaign also serves as preparation for the 2025 CGC Volleyball Premier League, where Customs are defending champions.
Nigeria won five awards, including MVP and Best Opposite for Kelechi Genevieve and Best Attacker for Maryam Ibrahim.
Aisha Umar was named Best Server, Bukky Oluwatosin won Best Middle Blocker, and Suleiman Ajeigbe was voted Best Coach.(NAN)
