Abuja, May 27, 2025 (NAN) As the 22nd National Sports Festival unfolds, Team FCT proudly elevates the flag of the nation’s capital with an impressive collection of medals — now totaling 35, which includes 13 gold, 8 silver, and 14 bronze.
The highlight performance of the week was delivered by Yahaya Yahuze Mohammed, who secured a gold medal in Wrestling, marking a significant moment in FCT’s pursuit of medals.
Mohammed’s commanding performance in the early hours of May 27 further solidified the team’s growing reputation in this year’s competition.
Also making a significant impact was Cynthia Chiamaka Paul, who showcased an exceptional performance in Power Tumbling (Gymnastics), earning one silver and one bronze medal.
The Golf team contributed another silver medal, while Judo added a bronze to the accumulating total.
FCT’s medal tally spans various disciplines, emphasizing the team’s well-rounded strength and preparation.
Below is a detailed breakdown of the medal distribution thus far: Gold Medals (13 Total): Karate – 5, Golf – 2, Wrestling – 2, Ayoo – 2, and Scrabble – 2. Silver Medals (8 Total): Golf – 4, Karate – 1, Weightlifting – 1, Wushu Kungfu – 1, Gymnastics (Power Tumbling) – 1. Bronze Medals (14 Total): Weightlifting – 2, Taekwondo – 2, Powerlifting – 1, Golf – 1, Wushu Kungfu – 1, Athletics – 1, Scrabble – 1, Badminton – 1, Karate – 2, Judo – 1, Gymnastics (Power Tumbling) – 1.
