SURV PHILO ONYEJIUWA URGES CHILDREN TO REMAIN FOCUSED IN THEIR STUDIES
Every 27th of May in Nigeria is Celebrated as Childrens day, and in Enugu State the Nigeria Television Authority usually hold a symposium for Children at their Compound.
This year the event coinsided with the weekend preceding the inauguration of the new leadership in Nigeria with the theme: “The State of Nigerian Children today: Proper Parenting for Value Orientation and and National Consciousness.”
At NTA Symposium in Enugu the Mother of the day Surv. Philo Onyejiuma urged the Children to remain focused and steadfast in their studies as they were better off now unlike in those days when going to school was a big challenge as a result of poverty of the parents then and the schools were located at distances that was far from their homes.
She told them that their lunch boxes then was a bottle of water and Palm Kernel unlike today that the Children have almost every thing that makes life very easy.
Surv. Philo further said that today the government have Policies that has made it Possible for them to learn in a conducive environment and therefore have no excuse to disappoint their parents who look upon them to become successful after their education as they have no excuse to fail with the kind of effort and sacrifice the parents are making to see through their education.
“As they Will be looking up on them to take care of them when they come out of school and are successful in their various careers, ” she said.
