Akure, Feb. 6, 2026 – Officials of the Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency have begun a statewide, street-by-street clean-up, inspection and corrective exercise following recent rainstorms, effective Friday, Feb. 6, 2026.

The exercise followed a maintenance notice to outdoor advertisers and involves identifying unsafe, defaced or displaced structures, while effecting urgent repairs to prevent hazards and restore order.
OSSAA said the operation targets protection of lives and property, environmental aesthetics improvement, and strict enforcement of existing signage and advertisement regulations across the state.

Advertisers were advised to promptly maintain installations, warning that non-compliance could attract sealing, removal or other enforcement actions by the agency.
Mr Yòmí Oyékàn, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage and Advertisement, said the exercise underscored the state government’s commitment to public safety and responsible advertising.
