Akure, Feb. 22, 2026 – The Ondo State Government has commenced enforcement of campaign signage permit regulations in the Northern Senatorial District through the Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OSSAA).
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage and Advertisement, Yòmí Oyékàn, and made available to newsmen on Saturday.
Oyékàn said the action followed an earlier public notice directing political aspirants to pay prescribed campaign signage fees in line with existing state regulations.
“We are not targeting any individual or political party. This exercise is strictly to ensure compliance with established guidelines governing outdoor campaign materials across the state,” he said.
He urged aspirants contesting Senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats to regularise their permits without delay.
“Obtaining the necessary approvals will protect candidates from avoidable sanctions and demonstrate respect for the rule of law,” Oyékàn stated.
He commended aspirants and political groups that had complied with OSSAA directives, describing their cooperation as encouraging.
“We appreciate those who have adhered to the regulations. Their compliance reflects a shared commitment to orderliness, fairness and professionalism in the electoral process,” he added.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and equity in regulating political campaign materials across the state.
