The Admission Officer, Godfrey Okoye University (GOUNI), Enugu, Lady Jane Ndukwe, has called on Nigerians to develop positive traits that would make them considerate with one another.
Ndukwe, who is also the Director, Social Student Mentorship and Parents Relations in the university said human being is possessed with strength and weakness but exhibits more of those weaknesses.
Ndukwe stated this during the launching of a book she authored, titled “Find Your Hidden Strength And Manifest Greatness: Building A Culture of Consideration” on Friday in Enugu.
According to her, those weaknesses were capable of making Nigerians inconsiderate towards others.
She noted that discovering those undesirable traits would help to reveal the strength lying dormant in many Nigerians, adding that identifying them brings the best in us to impact others positively.
Ndukwe said, “Doing that would help us build a healthy society where there is peace, collaboration and inclusion.
“I was prompted into writing the book because my project on “Building a Culture of Consideration” which was launched in GOUNI last year.
“Getting people to be empathetic and being mindful of our actions and spoken words, the culture of consideration which brings harmony, better relationship and productivity will exist among us.”
It was when I was asking myself what we should do to be considerate to one another that I discovered eight undesirable traits.
She listed laziness, greed, lust, Being judgemental, envy, anger among others as those negative traits that made us inconsiderate.
“In our families, work places and schools, if we are envious, hatred will set in but if we allow the gifts that aligns in us the world will be a better place”, she added.
Ndukwe who said the book had 36 pages with eight chapters, said the book was dear to her as discovering these traits would helps build true humanity.
Reviewing the book, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gozie Okoye, said pride prevents people from accomplishing any given task, and advised the participants to embrace hardwork.
Okoye said Ndukwe was qualified to write the book given her pedigree as the book was very short, small and impacting.
“It has a balance recipe for anyone who is genuinely desired to manifest greatness by building a culture of considerate
