Tribunal: LP woman leader calls for free, fair judgment
As the Enugu Election Petition Tribunal held it’s inaugural sitting last Friday the Labour Party (LP) Woman leader in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, Barrister Chinyere Gbugu has urged the judiciary to enthrone proper Judicial Interpretation of the new electoral laws so as to arrive at a judgement that will be acknowledged as free and fair.
The woman leader made specific reference to the Governorship Election Petition in the State that has generated a lot of apprehension amongst the various Political Parties in court including the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Reacting to the recent interview by Arise News with the Director General of NYSC, Ugoeze Amanato, as she is popularly called, noted that, it was a welcome development.
According to her, such issues of certificate had been used in the previous election of 2019 to change the results that was already announced by the INEC but was decided by the election tribunal in favour of the petitioner.
She further urged the labour Party faithful in Enugu State to be steadfast in Prayers as only God has the final say in deciding who the winner of any election will be amongst the contestants.
She added that the results of the February 25th and march 18th 2023 clearly showed that the people of Enugu State voted massively for Labour Party.
This was clearly proved with the results of the State House of Assembly; House of Representatives; and Senate elections
“The results were enough evidence that Enugu State People are now Obidients, ” she said.
