The zamfara State government in collaboration with it’s partners have intensified efforts to ensure universal health coverage of tuberculosis services saying that TB treatment centers that was 244 has been expanded to 442 centers.
Speaking at an event to mark world TB day which took place at Gusau, the commissioner for health Aliyu Abubakar who was represented by the pamanent secretary Phmacist Aliyu Maikiyo said, world TB day is a day set aside to sensitize and educate the public about the tuberculosis and it impacts around the world and effort made by the government, donors and partners to end the global TB epidemic.
The theme for this year conference is YES WE CAN END TB.
He further noted that during the year 2022 the zamfara Government and it’s partners have been able to expand it TB Treatment centers from 244 to 442 also Includeding all the private health facilities in the state.
zamfara State TB and leprosy control programs along with our partners and colleagues around the world share success in TB prevention and control and arise awerenes of challenges that hinders progress towards the elimination of this devastating disease.
Finally according to him, this year world TB day is critical with opportunities to raise visibility and political commitment at the 2023 UN high level meeting on TB.
