Dr Celestine Chuka Eze is a man of many parts: a distinguished political strategist, governance advisor, a senior banking executive, an estate management mogul and an entrepreneur per excellence.
Dr Eze has over 30 years of proven leadership experience across political campaign management, public-sector engagement, strategic communications, and institutional strengthening.
He is renowned for designing and executing statewide and national political campaigns, driving grassroots mobilisation, managing complex stakeholder networks, and providing data-driven advisory to governors, political councils, and senior government officials.
Eze combines deep experience in banking, governance, conflict resolution, and policy strategy, supported by a Ph.D. in Peace, Conflict & Development Studies.
He is adept at building high-performing teams, leading reconciliation efforts, and transforming political structures for electoral victory and administrative stability.
Eze is known for developing structured fundraising and accountability frameworks for political stakeholders.
As a political strategist, he was the Director General, Synergy Group – Enugu State PDP Campaign Organisation in the 2023 general election.
Part of his responsibilities was to lead a statewide voter sensitisation on PVC collection, ballot literacy, and turnout, a task he discharged creditably.
He also headed the reconciliation of aggrieved opposition members and reintegrated them into the PDP structures in the state, leading to successes in the 2023 general election in Enugu State.
Also, he produced impact assessment reports for the then state governor to guide campaign decisions, and oversaw opinion polling on zoning across the state. He also oversaw candidates’ acceptability, and political sentiment, strengthened ward and LGA penetration through traditional institutions, unions, and youth groups.
Beyond Enugu State politics, Dr Eze was also the Director General, Senator Datti Ahmed Presidential Campaign Team (PDP) (2018), where he coordinated political structures and campaign activities for the South East zone.
He supervised grassroots mobilisers across geopolitical zones and delivered executive strategic reports and political intelligence to campaign leadership.
Incidentally, the man who paid his dues as a loyal member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and later followed Governor Peter Mbah to the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Monday April 6, formally defected to, the new kid on the block, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Eze, while speaking on his move, described it as “a principled step.”
As a political colossus and a towering figure, his defection attracted the presence of party faithful, leaders of thought in Enugu North political zone, and thousands of supporters from his Igboeze South Local Government Area.
Although, Dr Eze did not make any categorical statement on his political future, at the defection venue, he did lament the condition of Enugu North senatorial zone in- terms of infrastructural development.
He decried the several years of developmental neglect, economic stagnation, and inadequate representation, noting that “his defection signals a deliberate effort to reposition the region for growth and opportunity.”
He said: “This is not merely a change of party—it is a declaration of intent to pursue inclusive development, dismantle inequality, and secure a better future for our youths and communities. “
As a true politician, he called on thousands of his supporters and other stakeholders across Enugu North senatorial zone and beyond to join him in the ADC, as they embark on the mission to restoration of hope, expand opportunities, and rebuild public trust in governance.
“The time for a new Nigeria is now; and together, through the ADC, we will make it a reality, ” he said.
Meanwhile, as the people of Enugu North senatorial zone continue to wait for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to release the time-table for the senatorial bye election in the zone, political watchers are already tipping Dr Eze as an ideal replacement for late Senator Okey Ezea (Ideke).
This projection is not out of place, because Dr Eze, is a man with Nsukka running in his blood.
For the records, he played a major role as president of Nsukka Professionals in Abuja toward Adada State creation movement, which was anchored then by late Hon. Chief Bernard Eze (Oko Ugbabe), (former national secretary of PDP.).
Also, as an avowed Nsukka man, he has always been associated with the Nsukka people and bringing them together, hence he is currently the acting chairman of, a non political-social organisation, Oha Nsukka Forum (ONF), where many big wigs from Nsukka converge in Abuja for interactive, progressive and interconnectivity towards ideas to move the Enugu North senatorial zone forward.
In the light of the above, therefore, ‘tipping Dr. Eze as an ideal replacement for his brother, friend, political ally from the same Igbo Eze South West, late Okey Ezea (Ideke), may just be “an idea whose time has come.”
